Blog Post#1 Title: Flying high with aerospace engineering.

  1. What examples from blog#1 demonstrate how the author has presented information in a persuasive manner as opposed to just informational?

The author tried to show the audience that aerospace engineer is interesting. And, the author compared the aerospace engineer with computer science engineer to show why aerospace engineer is interesting.

  1. What examples from blog #1 demonstrate how the author has customized the article to their unique target audience as opposed to providing generic content that can be applied to any target audience?

The author specified at the end of this blog that engineering is the way to go for those unique audience who want to learn awesome new things and be able to solve the world’s problems with clever uses of science and math.

  1. What examples from blog #1 demonstrate how the author has designed the overall website in a way that will be easy for readers to navigate?

Since I only got the doc instead of website, I think I can’t figure it out.

  1. What examples from blog #1 demonstrate how the author has considered potential misconceptions or counter-arguments about their topic?

The author point out that aerospace engineer is hard but interesting at the beginning of this blog.

  1. How can the writer revise this article to make it more compelling?

The topic is about aerospace engineering, but the second paragraph of this blog is about the general engineering. I think it will be more compelling if you introduce “What is aerospace engineering?” instead of “What is engineering?” I can’t find any in-text citation in this document either.

 

Blog Post#2 Title: Keeping the Economy afloat: Economics major

  1. What examples from blog#2 demonstrate how the author has presented information in a persuasive manner as opposed to just informational?

The author illustrates the aftermath of the crash in 2008, telling the audience that economists can clearly see the signs that caused the recession. Besides that, the author states another attractive point is that Economy majors have the time to join many clubs on campus.

  1. What examples from blog #2 demonstrate how the author has customized the article to their unique target audience as opposed to providing generic content that can be applied to any target audience?

I think this blog can be applied to all high school students since the author didn’t specify what kind of qualities should the audience have.

Since I only got the doc instead of website, I think I can’t figure it out.

I didn’t find any counter argument in this blog.

First, I think the project lets us to recommend ONE major or program to a specific group of high school students. So I guess you probably should choose only one major and write 10 blogs about that. Second, I didn’t find any sources used in this blog, which looks weird. Third, the words in this blog might not be enough. I will strongly suggest the author to have a look on the sample of final project posted on elms, which is really helpful.

 

Blog Post#3 Title: Saving the World in Global Public Health

The author use himself/herself as an example to tell the audience that being a global public health major is a rewarding decision. The author shows the passion of describing his stories about global public health, thereby attracting the audience to gain interests on this major.

  1. What examples from blog #3 demonstrate how the author has customized the article to their unique target audience as opposed to providing generic content that can be applied to any target audience?

Still, I think this blog can be applied to any target audience. The author tells a lot of personal experience but never mentions audience.

I didn’t find any counter argument in this blog.

Telling the personal stories about Global Public Health is okay, but I think you should also apply more credible secondary sources or personal survey or interview. Besides that, keep audience in your mind is very important. Instead of keep talking about yourself, you probably should mention your audience and explain why this major is suitable for your specific audience.
